Stuff I saw #BlueJays #Whitesox Apr 15 … in a day that ranged from celebrating Jackie Robinson Day to the shock of the bombings at the Boston Marathon, the vibe at SkyDome was a slippery thing. Some gave full-voiced cheers to Munenori Kawasaki, some gave full-voiced jeers to Alex Rios, some just wanted to escape the real world for awhile. It was the first time that I felt so conscious of being surrounded by absolute strangers. Trust is a wonderful thing.
I don’t feel very funny, but here are a few snaps of the White Sox … Viciedo, De Aza and Rios in the outfield; Jeff Keppinger at 3b.
Some comedy relief was provided from an unexpected pair. Whenever the Jays made an out, Kawasaki would turn and face LF, put his hands together and bow to Melky Cabrera. Melky would bow to Mune, and then they’d both point up in the air.
Jays won 4-3 with solid pitching from Rogers, Loup and Janssen building on a strong start from Buehrle.
Jackie Robinson, we tip our caps to you.
